Welcome To The Home Page Of Juan M. Banda
Currently, I am Data Science Post-Doctoral Fellow at Stanford's Center for Biomedical Informatics Research, in Nigam Shah's lab. I also hold an Adjunct Assistant Professor postion at Georgia State University where I continue my astroinformatics work. Previously I was a Post-Doctoral Researcher at Montana State University in the department of Computer Science, located in the very nice town of Bozeman, MT. I graduated with my Ph.D in Computer Science from this fine institution in 2011 and decided to continue my work on Content-Based Image-Retrieval Systems for Solar Image Data.
Before that I graduated from Eastern New Mexico University with a Masters degree in Mathematics, the university is located in the ever so exciting town of Portales, NM.
Even longer before that I graduated with a B.S degree in Computer Science (with honors) from Universidad Autonoma de Chihuahua located in Chihuahua, Chihuahua, Mexico, my home country.
My personal research interests include: Data Mining, Image processing, Content-Based Image Retrieving, Biomedical Informatics among other things.
